TED Conference Video Presentation

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design and it is an annually held conference in the USA where they invite the best minds and doers from around the world to talk about their work in less than 18 minutes.

The UNMC IET Student Chapter is conducting the first every TED Conference video presentation and sharing session this Thursday, 27 November 2008, 5.00pm onwards at F1A13.

* - this being a really large event, it is highly unlikely that we will be able to implement it this academic year, however we would like to start planning it's framework starting this year. T.B.D. - to be determined

Ideally the proposed place to visit should be within Selangor and encompass almost all the fields of engineering. Many of you might be wondering what was the result of the confusing elections held during the previous agm. After much deliberation between myself and Pius, we have decided instead to work together in order to make this society one of the best on campus. Unfortunately only one person may become the society's chairman. Pius was gracious enough to allow me to take charge, and he is now our society's technical advisor.

We are, however, working together and both of us share a common goal and vision for the IET Student Chapter, that is to create a society that aims to shape and mould our members into more professional and knowledgable engineers for the future. It is the goal of this committee for this academic year to make a more orderly, systematic and transparent society and we hope for the full cooperation of you guys, the members of this society.

We also promise that subsequent committee elections in the future will be conducted in a more organised and systematic manner in order to prevent such a fiasco from happening again.

Welcome to UNMC's IET Student Chapter Blog

Welcome to all member of UNMC's IET Student Chapter. The purpose of this blog is to keep you guys updated on the latest happenings of the society and also to get some feedback from you guys.
One problem we have observed is that our members lack access information about our society, and so we have conceived the idea of having a blog which should serve as a point reference for you guys to get more info as compared to just receiving the typical mass e-mails every now and then.

As you may have noticed, this blog is just a simple one for now. Plans are in the works to establish an online forum and a more proper website, but for now we just ask for your patience.

We, the committee, hope to be one of action and not just words this year and this was one of the primary motivation in coming up with this blog. We hope that you guys will visit this blog frequently and don't hesistate to add this blog to your RSS feed readers.
